Ground Floor Side Infill Extension

This family wanted to break the mould, as they believed their conservative two-storey semi-detached home offered no originality or unique qualities. This resulted in the creation of a modern, minimalist extension with a clever design - a run of the mill property no longer.

Meet Richard, the Lead Designer

Our client was looking to make their home a little more unique, and a little less ‘off the shelf’. They wanted to use the new space to extend the kitchen and dining area into one open plan room, and a separate area for the kids to play. They were considering including the garage in the new layout, but were not quite sure how to go about doing this.

I designed a ground floor side infill extension, which took advantage of their unused side return. This allowed for the creation of an open plan dining and kitchen area, with lots of natural light from the two skylights above the dining room, and glass sliding doors out towards the rear. I managed to incorporate the garage into the layout, taking advantage of its high ceilings, to form a spacious playroom with two skylights.
