This was certainly achieved, as the open plan design meant that guests could grab a drink in the kitchen, wonder into the dining room, take a break in the living room, then check out the library... yes, that's right, the library!

Meet Maeve, the Lead Designer

Our client expressed that they were open to ideas, but the design needed to appeal to them while they lived at the property, and then eventually to potential buyers. In the loft conversion our client required extensive wardrobe space, with a large shower in the ensuite. They specified that they wanted the home to be filled with natural light.

Solution

I designed an open plan kitchen, dining, and living area in the ground floor rear extension, with a utility room attached. For this room I added two skylights, with floor to ceiling glass doors looking out onto the garden. On the first floor, the wall between the bathroom and WC was knocked through to create a more logical combined bathroom. For the loft conversion, I designed a master suite with a skylight and dressing area (which provided ample wardrobe space), and an ensuite with a spacious shower and two skylights. This master suite also had floor to ceiling windows, which provided plenty of natural light.
