Fulwell and Hampton Hill

Ground Floor Side Infill Extension

When our client decided they wanted to extend their Victorian era property, they came to Resi. This home benefited from unused alleyway space - as is often the case with period properties - so was perfect for a side extension. We added a stylish framed skylight extending across the new space to revamp this Victorian property, and give it a light and modern feel.

Meet Richard, the Lead Designer

Our client stated that their wish was to adopt a minimalist and modern internal style, while the exterior remained entirely Victorian. For the kitchen they specified that they wanted an entirely open plan kitchen, with a wide opening at the rear in order to install bifold doors; the idea when building the extension was to remove the conservatory and put the kitchen in its place. The client also requested that somewhere in the layout was to be a large bathroom with a shower, however they were open to ideas on where this could be placed.

As mentioned, we removed the conservatory along with the walls containing the shower and WC at the rear of the property, in order to create a lovely open plan kitchen and dining area. This was decked out with a vast skylight that stretched from one side of the room to the other, ensuring the space was filled with natural light. The first floor was extended at the rear, which included a bathroom big enough for a walk in shower, because… well because, who doesn’t love a walk in shower.
