Peckham Rye

Ground Floor Rear Extension

This renovation was all about glazing, glazing, and more glazing. Two large skylights filled the extension, with three glass panels that were broken up with frames, looking out onto the garden. No one could call this new space dark and dingy!

Meet Richard, the Lead Designer

Our client was looking to create a new space for a utility room, downstairs WC, and a larder. They also wanted an open plan kitchen and dining room at the rear of the house. Their preferred style was modern, but with a traditional twist.

In order to create an open plan kitchen and dining area, I had to remove the external walls of the rear of the home. This allowed for a large, open space, perfect for kitchen, central island with a breakfast bar, and dining table. This room was fitted with two large skylights, to ensure natural light filled the extension. Attached was a larder, and new utility room. Because of the size of this utility room, there was enough room to fit in a separate WC and shower.
