This Victorian terrace in Wandsworth underwent quite a transformation with a new wraparound extension and loft conversion. Our Connect partners – Home Republic – beautifully constructed the designs our Resi team put together, creating the modern and luxurious interior these homeowners wanted during their consultation call. Both designs focused on large communal spaces and plenty of personal space for a desirable finish. Here’s how we made the magic happen.
The wraparound extension
Our first port of call was to expand the family’s living space. As a Victorian property with an adjoining alley, there was plenty of unloved square footage, which created an L-shaped rear. Thankfully, this is the perfect shape for a wraparound extension! As a result, we squared off the property and extended it into the garden without using up too much green space. Because a wraparound is a large extension, our designers wanted to make sure enough natural light was present, so they included skylights and large sliding doors at the rear. They also added a kitchen island and dining area so the family had the option of both formal and informal dining.
The loft conversion
Our upstairs addition of a loft conversion with a dormer window opened up plenty of space. There are bedrooms, playrooms, and even ensuites! However, what we pulled together for the master bedroom is really special. Not only does this large space enjoy classic period bay windows, but on the way to the ensuite, there's a dressing room with enough space to house the results of a superstar shopping spree. Alongside this, the ensuite boasts a free-standing bath and a wet room.
Our full service
For such a large project, it was all hands on deck for the Resi team. We provided an end-to-end service for this project, managing not only the architectural design but also the planning and building regulations. We also put them in touch with a quality contractor. It’s a lot of work, but we think the final results are more than worth it!
