With a two-storey extension, combined with a garage conversion and loft alteration, there’s nowhere in this Hertfordshire property that hasn’t benefited from our designers’ touch. With so much to sink our teeth into, let’s take a closer look at the ground floor. The homeowners wanted to fully visualise their kitchen and living space, in order to make sure their glazing would fully maximize the surrounding views. Here’s what our 3D models showed them…
360 glazed views
With nature at the forefront of these designs, making sure each room benefited from stunning views was a top design priority. We mapped out a new landscaped patio, which would allow key living spaces to be opened up to the garden. Now the dining, lounge, and living room all face out towards green space. We included large glazed doors and plenty of glass to make sure this new configuration lived up to the expectation. After all, our own Happy Home research shows that views of nature have a bigger positive effect on mental health than just natural light alone.
Socialising
On the ground floor of this mammoth detached property, we designed plenty of options for socialising and ensured they suited various occasions. In the living room, we kept the room large and spacious, with plenty of space for various household activities. Whereas in the lounge, we made sure to add in the cosy factor, giving the family somewhere to snuggle up inside. The open plan kitchen diner is the perfect place for parties, as the guests can watch the sun setting on the horizon from the table. It also allows the family to spend more time together, as watchful children can sit at the breakfast bar while meals come together. And should those kids need a little alone time, there is a playroom at the front of the property, ready for all types of fun and games!
Building regulations
For such a big project, there’s a lot of technical details that need to be considered. Luckily, Resi not only provides planning drawings, but we’re also able to create a building regulations package too. These technical drawings can be used by contractors to make sure every legal requirement is considered and leave an end product that is as safe as it can be. Our team introduced the family to local structural engineers and other specialists, before consolidating this work into one comprehensive final package - making life just that little bit easier.
