When it came to giving this home a top to bottom make-over, neither our team nor the homeowners were afraid to add a touch of style.
Extending the ground floor
First up, let’s talk about the ground floor. One of the biggest items on the homeowner’s wish list was getting enough room for a kitchen island, plus a large dining table. The side extension we designed ticked these items off and also, by adding in a large glass ceiling, we’ve ensured this space is perfect for cooking and socialising. What’s more, if the family wants a more cosy space for the winter, our redesigned living room includes a working log-burner. All this fits together nicely into the homeowner’s interior design theme of blending the contemporary with the classic.
Standout features
Note the exposed brick wall that runs throughout the house and those white-washed wooden trusses in the kitchen. And if the family ever wants to get out a little and enjoy that precious spot of London green space, we’ve also provided a landscape design, which allows the kitchen to flow effortlessly into a picnic area.
Loft conversion
Okay, that’s the ground floor taken care of, next up is that all-important loft. This home was lucky in that there was plenty of unloved space just waiting to be transformed. Keen to create a bedroom that benefitted from a bit of extra privacy, we made sure to include an en-suite with a walk-in shower. This means whoever stays in this space can get away from the hustle-bustle, ideal for either visiting relatives, older teens or even an au pair (this project is located in East Dulwich). Not sold enough on the space? Well, don’t worry, we’ve got one more wow feature. Our designs also include a built-in wardrobe, keeping the room clutter-free. Oh, and there’s also an exposed brick chimney and skylights. This room has WOW designed for everywhere you look!
