One of the best things about converting your loft is all the storage options this opens up for your home.
If you’re someone who’s looking for some shelves for art pieces or hidden nooks for all the tat they’ve accumulated, we’ve got some ideas for you!
We asked our designers for some of their favourite storage solutions and here’s what they said…
“This was a great project to be part of and one of my favourite elements is the built-in storage we included. Many people see the pitch of a roof as a drawback, but actually, I really love the shapes it creates. You get those lovely little nooks that are perfect for some purpose-built storage units. Take this design, we combined open shelving with drawers. Letting the homeowner display their nicer items, and hide away the mess. Really helps add that little bit of character into the space.”

“We’re always looking for great ideas for our customers and I just love this Pinterest find. Sometimes lofts aren’t always big enough for a proper bedroom, so it’s great to see someone making the most out of a smaller room. This spot is perfect for getting ready for the day, and I can only imagine what goodies this homeowner has hidden away in those drawers!”
“Sometimes the best storage isn’t the most glam, it’s the most subtle. These small cupboards blend easily into the room and are the ideal places to put big items and small.”
“Ever since I saw this loft I’ve been dying for a real bookworm to come through our doors. Sadly, I’ve not had the chance to design someone’s personal library, but you never know when that might change.”
“This Resi design is both a great example of creative storage spaces and a novel way of giving kids more room to play. Not only are these beds nestled into the wall, so is each child’s drawer, tucked away nicely under each bunk. A great place for storing toys, clothes, and stolen sweets.”
Nick, Head of Design
“This loft is based in Milan, Italy and I just love the shapes the designers have created with that beam. In terms of storage, I can definately envision some custom-made shelves or a cupboard nestled in that corner. You could also create a unique book display running up that beam."
Marcus, Building Regulations
“Clutter is the enemy of most bathrooms. From piles of towels to endless bottles of lotions, with this in-built storage we’ve tried to limit the mess this space faces. The drawers allow whoever stays here to pack away their towels and other garments up, without worrying about damp.”
“Storage doesn’t have to just be about hiding things away. I love how this bathroom has been designed to have the shelves as a focal point. It not only serves as a great display case, but with those white hexagon tiles, it helps makes this otherwise small room feel bigger.”
“Modern, sleek designs are very popular at the moment, but it's worth remembering that even simple homemade storage units can be just as nice - if not positively charming. Take this DIY'ed nook someone's cleverly created. With the wooden finishes on the loft conversion, this is a lovely space to chill out with your favourite read and record on play."

“I know you want storage solutions but what better way to give yourself more space for things than a balcony? Yes, I’m partly showing off this fantastic outdoor space I designed, but just think of all the space you know have for storing your garden items.”
