What is Connect?
Just as the name suggests, structural engineers are concerned with everything that makes your house stand up. They’re a vital part of the building regulations process and will work with Resi to produce the technical equations needed to secure building control approval.
When starting the building regulations process, finding a structural engineer will be one of the very first steps.
If you’re doing works near or on a wall, boundary, or outbuilding shared with a neighbour, then you’ll need to have them signed off with a party wall notice. If you fail to get written consent, then a party wall agreement will be needed. A party wall surveyor will assess both yours and your neighbour's property to help draw up this documentation.
If necessary, we’ll guide you through this process and recommend party wall surveyors during the building regulations stage.
CCTV refers to the camera these professionals use to check the health of your drainage system. They’ll map out your drains, and check to see if your project will run into any potential issues in this area. Your surveyor might then recommend you get a build over agreement in place before any construction starts.
Resi will assess whether or not this professional will be required when starting your building regulations journey.
Contractors can either make or break a project, that’s why Resi tries to find you the best tradespeople for the job. All our recommended builders have been vetted by our team or are part of our TrustMark partnership. This means you can start construction in a safe pair of hands.
To keep things running smoothly, we’ll advise when it’s time to put your home out for tender, usually during the building regulations stage.

When do we Connect you?
When you’re ready for one of our Connect professionals to come in, we’ll start our introductions. By letting Resi manage your timings, it ensures you don’t make any pricey deposits before you have all your permissions in place - keeping your money safe.
When ready, we’ll source the ideal professional near you. We’ll try to give you a choice where possible, allowing you to pick a price right for your budget.
Once you’re happy with a quote, you’ll then be introduced to your professional via email, so you can both discuss the finer details of your project.
Throughout your communication with our Connect partner, Resi’s team will be checking in to advise on contracts and payment plans.
When the first payment has been made, Resi will then get back in touch with the new service to ensure they have all the information they need to get started on your home.
